Re: Billardyce & Noblan
Mex look at the 1st goal again and the starting positions, you'll see Obiang 15 yards behind Noble and Hazard then busting a gut and finally ends up sprinting past Noble to make up for Noble's error, at this point Noble hardly breaks sweat, the fact that Hazard made a great run in the end of his shoulder is hardly his fault

As for the 2nd he didn't head the ball down at all it skimmed off Kouyate's bonce, more look at who let Costa go in the box, Reid wasn't it

Sorry Mex but it seems like you have a jaundiced view on Noble, I don't worship or dislike him so see myself as impartial and on his form of late he needs a rest

Sven Roeder 11:36 Tue Mar 7
Re: Billardyce & Noblan
I thought the ball flicked off Kouyate's head as Fonte was about to clear it for the second.

Re: Billardyce & Noblan
North Bank, Obaing was at fault for both goals, 1st - hazard went past him and he was to slow to get a tackle in 2nd he headed the ball down to costa instead of clearing it.
Better than Noble? did you guys actually watch the game

Mex Martillo 11:28 Tue Mar 7
Re: Billardyce & Noblan
Thanks Iron Duke, I was starting to think I watched a different game or something?!

Our mistakes were annoying, it is hard to say exactly where it went wrong. The counter attack we had plenty of opportunity to cover the mistakes in their half, but didn't, probably we had too many forward. When the defense was organised and in position we held them out pretty well and that makes for me the second goal more annoying, obiang header?! should have been cleared. No one on Costa, what was Reid doing. I guess the pressure gets through in the end.... As our pressure did, but a bit late.

Re: Billardyce & Noblan
Iron Duke stop it, Kante was arguably the best player on the pitch and Obiang probably our best player, neck and neck with Lanzini, Noble was average at best and subbed off at 75 minutes, which for me was 75 minutes too late. He needs a spell on the pitch and just because some don't rate him as a West Ham Footballing God doesn't mean there's an agenda against him

chedylan 2 11:16 Tue Mar 7
Re: Billardyce & Noblan
it led to a goal because our defence stayed up after the free kick expecting the ball to be swung back in immediately.

Of course there will be a huge danger if we lost the ball then no matter how deep we are in the chelsea half because we only had lanzini and the keeper between the goal and their players.

Quite why noble decided to take 3 touches and attempt some tight triangle passes at that point only he can tell you.

Then he hesitates again once they have the ball and 2 players cut inside him, watching that mismatched sprint back was almost entertaining in its comedy.

Blame the defence for being reckless if you like but he should have been aware of the danger of being caught out and chipped it back into the box, the best offensive and defensive option. He's the captain ffs.

Its not the first time noble has been caught out slow in possession this season and cost us.

Yes he improved second half for sure, but we are not going to 'the next level' with noble rooted in the starting 11 every week. For all his effort he just isn't good enough, or quick enough in any capacity.

Re: Billardyce & Noblan
There is an agenda against Noble by some and it is very sad. He hasn't had the best of seasons and should not be guaranteed a place in the side (FWIW I don't think he is).

This will upset a few people but he actually had a good game v Chelsea. He made one mistake - I think Feghouli was as much to blame - which should not have led to a goal a few seconds later as we were deep in our half. Apart from that, he covered a lot of ground, tackled, and had a passing accuracy of 95%

He played just as well as Obiang, and actually just as well as Kante. Don't get me wrong, Kante is much the better player and has had much the better season. But just based on yesterday, Noble was no worse. The difference was that Chelsea had the quality in the final third.

That is how we lost. Our front 3 of Carroll, Snodgrass and Fegoulhi were inaffective. Carroll huffed and puffed but looked like a player who was out for a month. Fegoulhi slows every attack down by always having to take a touch and doesn't seem to be quick thinking enough against strong opposition.

Overall, we didn't do that badly. We just couldn't break down Chelsea's defense and then made a few silly errors which they capitalised on.

Re: Billardyce & Noblan
Noble worked hard in midfield controlling the ball and passing with highe success rate in a very tight midfield. Generally Chelsea players stood off him, as diving in would give him the chance to move past them. He both helped defend and attack. Chelsea packed the defense as they always do, was very hard to get through. But we controlled midfield for large parts of the game.
Yes Noble, played well, not surprised he was subed after such a work rate.

Have to say Fernandes looked good too. Nice to have 2 good options.

Re: Billardyce & Noblan
Played well dithering on the ball that led to a Chelsea goal ?

He was average in his usual slow ploddy way.

noble does alright against a hull or palace or even stoke, but against the best midfields in the league he is not good enough and never will be now.

Like I said he shouldn't have started last night and should be dropped for Fernandes or kouyate as a starter

Mex Martillo 7:36 Tue Mar 7
Re: Billardyce & Noblan
Noble played well last night, as he usually does.

Raymond Reddington 7:15 Tue Mar 7
Re: Billardyce & Noblan
Shame it will probably take the crowd turning on him to get him dropped, similar to what happened with Nolan.
Good player on he's day and defininatly good enough for a squad player. He's constant selection is now costing the team

Re: Billardyce & Noblan
I think the time has come to hand his place to Fernandes and give Reid the armband. Fernandes looks mustard and is twice as quick and deserves a run to get him prepared for next season.

We ain't going down and we ain't getting into Europe so it's time to let the kids have a go and let them learn their trade at the highest level. I wonder whether Slaven 'no one in the world exists under the age of 25' Bilic will let him?

OF COURSE HE WON'T!!!

Re: Billardyce & Noblan
Bilic has said many times that Nobles presence in the dressingroom is of most importance.

On field he may be important as a captain, but he now has to be dropped more often. Just look at what has happened to Rooney.
